Born in New York City to Romanian and Greek parents, Laura Jordan has always had a natural love of dance and art. Early childhood performances developed fluidly into a path for her future life in the arts.
“As a child I was fascinated by dance, golden era Hollywood divas and the glamour of dance productions from black & white movies.
That is where my love of dance started and it is performers like Samia Gamal and Rita Hayworth that continue to inspire me today”
Jordan received her formal art training at the famous Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, earning her Bachelors Degree in Design.
In 2001 she began her studies in Italy, attending an Italian university for design, living and studying in Florence extensively. Since then, she has been featured in European commercials and modeled in fashion shows in Italy, eventually returning to New York to continue her design career with major lingerie fashion companies.
A demanding career in fashion was destined to make way for Jordan’s passion for performance, as it is dance that is the hidden language of the soul..
Inspired by her eternal love of Middle Eastern dance, Jordan has fostered her natural ability by aligning herself with numerous master professionals of Raks Sharki. Among her most beloved Oriental Dance teachers are the masters Hassan Afifi, Yousry Sharif, Hannah Nour, Jehan Kamal and Bozenka.
Jordan has studied extensively in Egypt with renowned dance stars Randa Kamel, Raqia Hassan & Dina.
She quickly distinguished herself by her effortless Arabic style, and it is her rare combination of exotic beauty and a gracious spirit that grants her universal appeal.
In addition, Jordan’s world dance background includes Brazilian Samba do Rio and Polynesian dance.
Among her professional highlights include performing for multiple Arab & Greek diplomatic events, the United Nations, Lebanese star Fares Karam American tour, televised worldwide performance for the Bollywood Indian Music Awards at the Taj Mahal Arena, Broadway production of ‘Goddessdance’ and various national and international television appearances and celebrity events.
